We also operate the eBay seller account buyingknifecollection and private software applications used to manage that account.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and disclose information through BuyingKnifeCollections.com, our knife-collection quote and communication process, and our private applications that connect to eBay services.
1. Information Collected Through BuyingKnifeCollections.com
Information you provide. If you accept an offer, we may also collect information needed to arrange insured shipping, issue payment, and document the transaction.
Uploaded photographs. Photographs submitted for a quote are used to identify, evaluate, and make offers for knives and collections. We do not intentionally publish photographs submitted for a quote without permission. Photographs may contain embedded metadata, including dates, device information, and potentially location information. You may remove this metadata before uploading photographs if you do not want it included.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the website, we or our service providers may automatically collect information such as your Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring and visited pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, date and time of visits, cookie or advertising identifiers, and website performance, diagnostic, and security information.

These applications are internal business tools and are not offered for use by unrelated sellers or members of the public.
eBay information accessed. The applications may access limited information supplied through eBay APIs, including eBay user identifiers, listing and item identifiers, listing descriptions, prices, quantities and status, sold-item and order identifiers, offer information and status, transactional timestamps, and other operational information necessary to manage our seller account.

How eBay information is used. Information received through eBay APIs is used only to operate and manage our eBay seller account, create and monitor listings, manage offers and sold items, maintain inventory and transaction records, provide transaction support, detect errors or unauthorized activity, meet accounting and legal obligations, and comply with eBay policies and developer requirements.
We do not use eBay user identifiers for unrelated advertising, mailing lists, profiling, or solicitation outside permitted eBay transaction-related purposes. We do not sell, rent, or commercially distribute eBay user information.
5. Sharing of Information

We may download photographs to restricted local business storage when needed to evaluate a collection, prepare or document an offer, communicate with the submitter, complete a transaction, prevent fraud, resolve a dispute, or maintain appropriate business records. Downloaded copies, quote requests, correspondence, and unsuccessful transaction information are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and are then deleted when no longer needed.
Completed transaction records may be retained longer when necessary for accounting, tax, legal, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes. Information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or securely deleted through the normal backup cycle.
eBay user information is deleted when it is no longer required for its legitimate application purpose, when deletion is required by eBay, when a valid user request applies, or when our participation in the eBay Developers Program ends, unless retention is required by law.
7. eBay Account-Deletion Requests
eBay may notify us when an eBay user requests account closure or deletion of personal information. When we receive an applicable Marketplace Account Deletion notification, we identify and delete the affected eBay user information from our applications and records unless specific information must be retained to satisfy a demonstrable legal obligation. Any information retained for a legal obligation is limited to that purpose and is not used for unrelated activities.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse. Access to website and eBay application information is limited to authorized persons and service providers with a legitimate business need. Application credentials and access tokens are treated as confidential and are not intentionally exposed to website visitors.
No website, network, database, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
